  • Dudley Moore
  • Meeting prince Charles
  • Signing Parkinson's Lore
  • Meeting the Queen. Harrison Ford gives me the evil eye.
  • Tommy Cooper, Mary, Jimmy Tarbuck: The man who nearly decapitated me in his act – afterwards Tommy Cooper asks Mary if she would still love me if I was headless. Jimmy Tarbuck thinks it’s funny. Two of our great comedians. Jimmy was hosting the show when Tommy tragically died.
  • Relaxed in Oz
  • The hobby, the job. Watching films for Cinema and sport for The Sunday Times.

  • The late Marion Montgomery and husband Laurie Holloway. Marion worked on the very early Parkinson shows. Laurie was my MD from the time of the return to the BBC, and is one of my closest friends.
  • Paul Newman in racing mode for a documentary made for Australian TV. Producer David Lyle (on Newman’s left) was one of the reasons I enjoyed Australia as much as I did.
  • Tom and Annie Yeardye and Adam Faith, relaxing poolside at the Beverley Hills Hotel.
  • My dear friend and hero Keith Miller. Neville Cardus said he was ‘the Australian in excelsis’.
  • Elton John gave me this picture of George Best. It has a wistful quality I find appealing.
  • A meeting with the Iron Lady at No. 10.
