| Great performance by Reading who have now possibly prompted the Liverpool board to kiss Rafa goodbye. Cannot understand how Reading are struggling for Championship survival, perhaps they and Coppell parted company a bit too soon but I hope Caretaker Boss, ex gunner, Brian Mc Dermott gets the job full time. He deserves it on the performances against Liverpool alone. As for Rafa.........................I can hear the Fat lady singing from the back row of the Kop.

| I watched Liverpool at Sunderland earlier in the season, you know the infamous beach ball game. They where a very ordinary side, and that is not being unfair to Sunderland because they played well. Liverpool have always had the ability to raise the game, but they never looked as though they where going to change anything that day, especially without Torres and Gerrard. I dont think Rafa is a bad manager, but I think he has lost the plot big time, and cannot see him surviving this season.

| Reading march on in the FA CUP, another fine win 3-2 away to West Brom last night means the former Championship strugglers have hit the quarter Finals. Aston Villa stand in the way of the semis

| Talking of Liverpool, I saw them at Man City last Sunday, the first game I've been to in 30 years, and it reminded me why I stopped going 30 years ago. I wouldn't have gone at all, except that a group of us were treated to a freebie, and it was an interesting experience to be in a magnificent modern stadium in an area totally dedicated to sport. The only downer was that the game was so stupefyingly tedious. The two goalkeepers would have every right to have sued for neglect, they had so little to do. One bright spot - the talent and industry of young Adam Johnson, a possible star in the making. I marvelled at how 47,000 people could make so little noise. A surreal afternoon - but I digress - Liverpool looked a really ordinary outfit, devoid of flair or invention - Oh for a Keegan or a Heighway or a Dalglish!
