| Poor Ireland last night. Secured a 1-0 away win over France in the World Cup Qualifier only to be eliminated by the hand of Tiery Henry, who blatantly handled the ball TWICE in his assist for Gallas eqalising goal. Yes its football, yes its World Cup qualification, and millions of revenue at stake. I like Henry as a player, but call me nieve, silly, or whatever, why coudnt Henry have admitted his offence to the referee for the goodness and true meaning of sport. Its been done before in Football, Tennis, and Cricket, oh but I forgot its no longer a sport its a dirty business.

| I totally agree with the sentiment of your comment HP, but you know as well as I do that Henry would have been a laughing stock in the "wierd world" of football, if he had done the right thing. His defence will be that no one admits to anything anymore. Who could argue with him. Sir Michael has made the comment himself that the game is all about the best divers and cheaters, and a man who can fall down on a regular basis, and the team profit from it, is as valuable nowdays as any "good" footballer. I think Sir Alex Fergusons comments at a managers dinner a few days ago answered it all when he said that no one deals with managers anymore, just the sharp boys in the suits who know "bugger" all about football, but my god they can smell a Dollar, a Pound or a Euro from 50 miles away. They will eventually kill the game, I am under no illusuions about that. Money, that is the reason that Henry "cheated" Ireland out of a World Cup place, and I bet FIFA are laughing all the way to the offshore bank account, that they, and all the other "crooks" in the world use. Football is yet again poorer for the other nights incident, but it wont matter because the smell of money will make it all go away, well until the next time anyway. Paul.
